October 2023 -WHOOOSH!!

Well..... October was a fantastic month which absolutely flew by, eating, drinking and spending quality time with friends who flew over to visit me. I won't bore you with the details of all the pubs & restaurants we frequented over the month, because no doubt I have mentioned them all before in earlier blogs... but will mention the weather has been absolutely AMAZING! It has been that hot that everyone was moaning it was too hot hahaha... Winging pomms eh?? #gloriousweather #SpanishSunshine

Was ACE to see everyone kicking off with Big Dave & Jody FINALLY managing to get over to see me after just over 3 years i've been here.. With stubby hubby in toe as well..

Crazy quick weekend was had by all. Blinked & I would have missed it. Don't leave it another 3 years to the next time eh amigos? #flyingvisit

We even manage to squeeze in lunch at the beach. Mar Azul Beach #beachlunch https://www.facebook.com/pages/Mar-Azul-Beach/524032004292973

Just managed to change the beds & clean up before Sue & Geoff arrived for a few days before heading off to Benidorm to spend the rest of their holiday with friends and family over there.

Had to be Nutters Bar for these nutters where you bump into other folk from Failsworth!!

So the best and cheapest way of getting to Benidorm from where I live I found, was to use David's Coach Trips. It was only 12euros each to get picked up from Balcones which is 10mins down the road from me. That's return as well. But like Sue & Geoff you don't have to return. Still the same price but still cheap as chips and well worth it.

Check out where else they do trips https://www.facebook.com/davids.coachtrips

Next up here comes Lucy & Our Mike just in time for Halloween shennanigans up at Hillside Snooker Bar. I absolutely LOVE djing up here. Everyone really makes an effort and has a great time. And thats just the customers. Claire & Team Hillside go above and beyond to make sure everyone is looked after. They couldnt do enough for me & mi amigos. We all stayed the night in the lovely rooms, even our little dogs were put up for the night.

Lucy has never been to music bingo. So yep we had to go to the Tavern, San Miguel to see what it was all about for her. She didn't win just once, she had to win twice!!

Made my day especially when she donated second winning of 50euros to the local animal charity Finca La Castillana.. Way to go Lucy!! #musicbingowinner

In May 2000 Finca La Castellana started as a family building project, on a piece of land on the campo, just outside of San Miguel. Along with family, they started taking in, rescuing and re-homing animals of all descriptions that had been abandoned, ill-treated, abused, or dumped. They soon realized that the building project had to extend to kennels, cattery, paddock, stables, and orchard, just to house all the rescued animals. After years of red tape and paperwork, Finca la Castellana became a registered, non-profit charity in March 2009. This has made it possible to take on volunteers to help with the daily care of the animals, and most importantly, to start fund raising to help with the feeding, day to day care, veterinary needs and maintenance costs.

During this time over 3000 animals have passed through their gates, the majority being found new home. Some of these rescue animals, due to ill health, have the chance to live their lives on the finca as part of the family. The charity works closely with the local police and has an ongoing project, ‘The Green Mile’. helping release dogs from municipal killing stations around the country. There motto being, ‘The more money they save, the more pets they can save’. Check out their website right here https://www.fincalacastellana.com/

A night out in Quesada with my special Amigos Don, Mica & Scott starting with an amazing dinner at this restaurant Rame Quesada Golf. We was sat out on the patio with a beautiful view and the food was delicias but i'm sorry to say the staff need working on. They was that bad is was funny. One menu was given between four of us and if you wanted a drink you would have been quicker going next door for one. There was no staff manning the floor and it wasn't that busy. Shame because it really is in a beautiful setting.

Then it was down to the Irish Bar, Shenanigans, to watch the rugby.

I'm not an avid fan of the Rugby but I do like to watch a good game & what a great atmosphere it was too.

What better way to watch Ireland/Scottish but with an Irish and a Scottish pal...

So after all the drinking, eating and partying i've been doing in October its back to the walking.

With my Queen Minni strapped to me as usual of course.

Well my gorgeous blog readers a little bit late sorry...
