NEW YEAR... NEW START!!

All of a sudden its January 2022!! We are into another year already. Time really does go nowhere. New years resolutions.. Make the most of every single day because we really do not know what is round the corner do we? I mean did any of us see Covid coming and locking us down for 2 years?

So we kicked off the New Year with a full on dinner with special friends, and the weather was glorious!! #newyear #january #dinner #sunshine

Here in Spain January is all about THE THREE KINGS on 6th January.

The tradition of gift giving at Christmas is particularly special for children. They are the ones who await most eagerly the arrival of the Three Wise Men, who come in through the windows house by house, sharing out presents in just one night.

Sharing the exciting wait with them is a gift of love and emotion. This Christmas tradition fills the little ones' days with unforgettable magic.

When the long-awaited day finally arrives, the whole family come out onto the street to receive the Wise Men. They arrive with a traditional parade, riding through the streets on their camels, loaded with presents and accompanied by royal pages who throw sweets and goodies to the children. One by one, the delightful floats pass by, decorated with bright colours and inspired in popular children's characters. The little ones will love them. All the while, a band brings joy to the celebration with Christmas songs and carols. The spectacle of joy, light and colour, combined with the smiles of the children, make for a feeling of complete happiness.

There are parades celebrated all over Spain on this day. Each has its own particular style, depending on where you are. In Barcelona, for example, the Three Wise Men arrive by sea, while in the village of Alarilla, in Guadalajara, they are daring enough to arrive by hang-glider and paraglider. Or why not see the parade in Alcoi, Alicante, the oldest in Spain?

After the parade, children go to bed early but excited, to wait for Melchoir, Caspar and Balthazar to come in through the window and leave presents in their shoes. First they should put water and bread on the windowsill for the camels to eat and drink while the Wise Men do their work. #3kings #Spanishtradition

We took a trip to Javea to see our amigo on his birthday and popped into Lee Sharpe's new bar. What a top bar it is too. They show Sport, have Live Music, Pool Table, Dart Board, Good Food and much more. If your in the area go and check it out. https://www.facebook.com/Sharpeysjavea

Lee Sharpe and his lovely wife Lucy really nice people too. You don't know who Lee Sharpe is?

Lee Stuart Sharpe (born 27 May 1971) is an English former professional footballer, sports television pundit and reality television personality.

As a player was predominantly a left winger from 1988 to 2004, he notably played in the Premier League for Manchester United, Leeds United and Bradford City and in Serie A for Sampdoria. He also had spells in the Football League with Torquay United, Portsmouth and Exeter City before wrapping his career up in Iceland with Grindavík and in non-league football with Garforth Town. Sharpe's spell at Manchester United lasted from 1988 until 1996 where he won several league titles, the FA Cup and the League Cup. He won a total of eight caps for England as well as one cap for the B team.

Was fantastic to finally catch up with my gorgeous amiga Sorell. We went for lunch at Restaurante Nautilus in Torrevieja. While the food was amazing I will have to say the service on this particular day was very very slow. Whether they had staff issues I have no idea but they do need to sort that out.

It is a beautiful restaurant in a beautiful setting though. https://www.facebook.com/restaurantenautilus

Then it was over to Browns Cocktail Bar for a couple of cocktails. I was on the alcoholic ones while Sorrell was being very good and tried a few of the mocktails. Their pawn star cocktail was to die for.

You can drink, dance, eat, relax and enjoy in their luxurious bar and diner. Pop in 7 days a week.

Their in-house rules includes no children under the age of 16 years are permitted in Browns after 6pm. I personally think that is a good rule with it being a classy cocktail bar with cool dj's spinning some great tunes.

If you know San Miguel you would remember The Breeze Bar. Was a fantastic bar back in the day we have had some great times in there. Anyway it has been closed down for many years and now it is going to be the new John O'brien International School. Which is great news for the building and the Urbanisation it is on. Balcon de la Costa. The builders are in as we speak and cracking on with it bigtime. Can't wait to see it finished.

If your looking for a school to put your children into then look no further than this amazing International School read all about it right here. https://www.theobrienlanguagecentre.es/

It was Raffa's birthday this month.

The owner of one of my favourite bars here in the village La Colada Wash and Drink, we call it wishy washy.

Of course we had to party with him.

This is not just a bar and a laundrette its a place of friendship.
