Me a Calendar Girl? Never!! But yes I actually did it after all the years I have said NOT A CHANCE!! The proof is in the picture!! We all had a great day doing this calendar... As they say you should try something in your life at least once..
To say May was manic is an understatement. Everyone that knows me knows full well that I do have to have a Birthday Month!!
Of course I do.. I have far too much partying to fit into one day.
I mean, who decided that you only celebrate your birthday for one day?
In my opinion everyone should celebrate for a month at least.
If we have to get older then lets party on and on thats what I say. So I did...
Kicking off the celebrations with our 4th wedding Anniversary. Yep can you believe it was 4 years ago on the 10th May that I did the biggest walk of my life and finally got married to my Stubby Hubby Stu.
Any excuse for a party. We took some friends to our very favourtie restaurant and wedding venue Meson El Prado, for menu del dia and as per usual we had a great day.
Thanks to these amazing staff El Prado they really are the very best!!

Stubby hubby whisked me & minni away for a few days R&R time. He checked us into a lovely airbnb in La Mata overlooking the sea with its own gorgeous pool.
Only down the road but far enough away to do nothing but eat, drink, read & sleep.
And that is just exactly what we did. Quality time just the three of us. Minni loved it.

Apart from wanting to get away for a couple of days for my birthday, the other main reason we decided to stay at La Mata was to go to a really good Italian Restaurant there that I have been to three times before and raved about bigtime. Stuart never has so he wanted to try it. To say we was disappointed in II Bacio Italian Restaurant based on the Sea Front in La Mata, i'm actually very sad to say, is an understatment.
Picture this, the weather was bouncing down and we had a lovely table inside the beautiful restaurant watching the rain and the sea come together.
Really couldn't fault the starters one bit we had mussels and bruschetto to share and then asked for 15mins break before our main course.
That's when the fun began.
I had lasagne which normally is amazing but I had to send it back as it was freezing inside.
Stu opted for surf & turf. He loves his steak but this definately was not the best cut of meat at all.
The owner came over to ask if everything was ok and so I said not really and explained why. His excuse for the cold lasagne and bad service was the kitchen staff must be having a bad day because of the rain!!
Obviously we didn't have a desert and left.
He did actually take a bottle of wine off the menu which is not why we complained.
I explained I had been there numerous times and was disappointed.
Definately will not be going back there..
Oh but we totally made up for it the next day when we stumbled across an amazing restuarant where they couldn't do enough for us and the food was perfecto!

The food made it, the staff definately made it and apart from the pink table cloths, which I shut my eyes to, this place is well worth a second visit.
So after a fantastic couple of days just chilling it was back to San Miguel for a birthday bbq
Great day had by all lots of singing, sort of, dancing and music.
I was a very spoilt birthday girl.
Thanks to all my amazing friends here and back in the UK you really are the bestest.
Dead chuffed with herself is my Spanish bestie Lynn making hand made Lemon Chello & not forgetting the hand made coleslaw as well...

Flying on her own to spend time with me at the age of 80.
I cry flying on my own now nevermind what state I will be in when im 80!!..
First stop we called into El Rancho what a fab place this is.
We checked out the spa facilities and was going to go another day but the weather wasn't looking good and as their spa is outside its a sunny day you need.
Can't wait to check it out though cos it looks amazing.
All you have to do is book in and tell them when you need it and it will be all ready for you. Like a private spa of your own. So we had menu del dia. More food!!
The food and service was fantastic. Just what we needed after Mumzee's early morning flight. So relaxed. Such a beautiful place hidden away if you don't know where it is.
This pool is so inviting. You can use it for 10euros a day but if you eat you get to use it for 5euros. Bargain!!
The SPA is 25euros per person not including the pool but again you can use it for 5euros if you eat. Which im sure you will after the SPA experience.

My UK bestie Sam bought me a voucher for La Marquesa Spanish tapas & wine bar based right in the heart of San Miguel so of course I took my Mumzee. This is another hidden away little place you have to check out.

A gorgeous picky day with Spanish food & wine. Great place to stop after a wander round the market on a Wednesday.
Its more than a tapas bar its a little supermarket too selling gorgeous Spanish Delicacies.
This dish, Tacos de Pancheta, I think is spelt and said right, please feel free to correct me if im wrong was absolutely delicias.
Just one thing to add, Sam I forgot to take the voucher so i've still got it.

Every single day spent with my Mumzee was the very best but the fact she has NEVER had a SPA day... Well.. we can't have that can we? So off we went to La Finca Resort for a massive spoiling. This is one amazing hotel.
We booked in for SPLUNCH! Spa and lunch! Ha I love it...
And if you didn't know this is also where BIG fm had their 10th year Anniversary Ball last year and where they are having their Summer Ball this year on Friday September 1st.
Get your tickets now!! Its definately a night to remember.
As you can see we had an absolute blast! Mumzee got in the freezing cold plunge pool, not for me at all!!
