MARCH MADNESS!!

And it sure was March Madness starting with my gorgeous Mumzee arriving to spend quality Mumzee & daughter time here in sunny San Miguel.

We had a ball, kicking off with wine tasting at the gorgeous venue Pimientoes https://www.facebook.com/sanmigueldesalinas2005

What A fantastic experience. We had 5 quality wines to taste, once we was shown how to actually taste wine properly, accompanied by this amazing Spanish charcuterie board. 10/10 for absolutely everything. Wine, Food, Service, Venue.

It was a first time here for me too & to say I was impressed is an understatment. This is a definately MUST place to visit. Beautiful surroundings. Go & discover their passion for freshly prepared, locally sourced seasonal food, homemade decadent desserts & award winning wines from small, quality bodegas throughout Spain. Relax & enjoy their breathtaking panoramic views & during the warmer evenings their terrace is essential for alfresco dining. #winetasting #pimientoes #spanish #bodego

A trip to my favourite beach in this area & Mumzee loved it. Mil Palmeras! https://www.facebook.com/playamilpalmeras

Mil Palmeras literally means a thousand palms. It is a quiet coastal town which only really comes to life in the summer months which is great for us residents because its absolutely tranquil the rest of the year.

The Sea is definately not for me or Minni at this time of year but Mumzee,

well she is definately a mad manc!! #paddling

Was amazing to have my Mumzee with me even for a short time & more proud of her for flying on her own. It was a breeze coming from Manchester to Alicante. Obviously masks were mandatory on the plane & she had to show her fully vaccinated certificate and locator forms both ways. #alicante #manchester

Quick cheeky visit from mi marido & was swept off for cocktails & oysters at the classy Browns Cocktail Bar yummy.. https://www.facebook.com/brownscocktailandgastrobar

Then we checked out the Ibiza-style Hippy Market in Rojales with art, handmade / artisan articles, food, drinks and DJ. https://www.facebook.com/hippymarketrojales

Was a beautiful sunny day for a wander round the stalls selling some amazing handmade gear.

So just before we was hit by heavy red rain for weeks, yep it does rain in Spain and when it does it really does, I managed to get green goddess out on the road for a spin & never fell off!!

If you are a scooter maniac over here looking for a group to join, look no further than the Costa Blanca Scooterists.

We have a new local bar here on our urbanisation Balcon de la Costa, San Miguel.

Well its not a new bar really its the old Whispers bar now called The Swan.

Taken over by the lovely Kirsty & Carl. #localbar #theswan #drinks #food

Situated near the bottom of the urbanisation in San Miguel it has a chilled atmosphere that's welcoming to all.

A nice glass of wine, beer on tap, a short on ice or coffee and cake.

The Swan aims to be the place that makes you feel at ease.

And it sure does. Go along and meet Kirsty & Carl. Support your local bars.

Paddy's Day came and went over here more because of the terrible weather we had. Which was such a shame as there was a big parade organised and it had to be cancelled. That did not stop all the bars putting on great entertainment so a good time was had by all.

But It has now officially been announced that there will be an International day parade on the 7th May 2022 @4pm. Its going to be amazing!! Read all about it right here https://www.facebook.com/StPatricks-Day-Parade-Cabo-Roig-Spain-1412762035641224

The Town Hall here in San Miguel organised a Spring Tapas run to support most of our cafes, restaurants and bars. We normally have a big tapas run in September.

What a great day it was too. #tapasrun

Some of the bars on the tapas run here on facebook..

It was fantastic to see the village so busy and buzzing. The bars went all out serving the best tapas and there was not one but two live bands marching round the village keeping us entertained.

To keep updated with whats going on in our gorgeous village follow the Town Hall.

To end what has been a very busy March myself & mi Spanish bestie booked into our latest new just opened Braseria Cafeteria El Capricho for a menu del dia.

Situated in the heart of San Miguel this little Braseria is a great add to the Village.

Small & cozy. Very friendly and the food is something else.

We both had brie and marmalade to start with then while Lynn chose grilled Salmon which was delicious I had the grilled chicken. Far too much but was so tender and the chips were just right. #menudeldia

Lynn of course had to finish with a massive slice of chocolate cake and I had fresh pineapple. Washed down of course with a gorgeous bottle of house red. All the the mad price of 10.50€

Was also great to meet up with one of my Spanish Amigo's Fran and meet his beautiful daughter Maria and some of his gorgeous family.

Its been far too long since we saw each other.

And that my blog readers and friends is March 2022 done and dusted already!!
