MAD MONTH OF MAY!!

What.... with a Wedding Anniversary, a Birthday Month, Visitors, Spa Hotels, Parties, air shows and much more fitted into one month - no wonder I was late for work on the last day!! 🤣

READ ON.......

But what a way to start my party month, having my mumzy fly back from the UK with me on May 1st for 4 days. I had parked my car at Murcia Corera Airport which I found really easy to do on my way out but not so easy to get out on the way back. Me being me I thought I had booked and paid for the parking online. Apparently not!! Which I found out trying to get through the barrier. Anyway the parking man in his little office on the car park was really nice to me and even took me to the machine to pay. Be warned it is only this airport that you can't PAY online. Booking no problem but you have to pay before you try and depart the airport. 🤣🤣 Cheap as chips though it only cost me 24euros to park up for 5 days!!

Straight for menu del dia at our very favourite restuarant with our very special amigo Don. Tucked away in one of the little Spanish streets of San Miguel, an amazing family restaurant Mesón el Prado is, as you already know, our favourite local restaurant. Always friendly and welcoming, and the menu never disappoints. The Menu del Día, is three courses, plus bread & salad and 1/2 bottle of wine - fantastic value for money in a great atmosphere. We are so spoilt by the gorgeous staff there as you will see further down this month's blog.. 😍

After a great couple of days with mumzy some retail therapy, shopping for plants that I hopefully do not kill, lunching and generally spoiling ourselves we now always spend the last night before she has to fly back to the UK in a SPA hotel not far from the airport.

This time we chose Hotel Lodomar. Wasn't as posh as the last one we stayed at but it was fantastic just the same. Couldn't fault anything really. Room was perfect. Food and service excellent and it was very Spanish.

HOTEL LODOMAR**** Spa & Thalassotherapy

The Lodomar Hotel is right in front of the natural reserve of Salinas and Arenales of San Pedro del Pinatar, ideally situated for those who love the nature. Lodomar exclusive Thalassotherapy Centre is the only Spa whose heated swimming-pool water comes from the Salt Marshes of Mar Menor, which can be compared to those of the Dead Sea.

We got an amazing deal including Spa, fully body massage each and breakfast. The Spa was great but I must admit it was the wierdest one I have ever been to in a hotel. It was very salty which was expected with it being from the Salt Marshes but still wierd. I have been to the dead sea and it was very much like that apart from heated. Poor mumzy kept get spun over it was hilarious 🤣 A different experience. Full body massage was amazing. We had it together in the same room and it was pure indulgence relaxation. #andrelax #massage #pamperday

If you go onto their website you an check out their deals. https://www.lodomar.com/

It absolutely chucked it down for a full day and night but we managed to get out and about to have a look around. #theraininspain

Lovely place San Pedro del Pinatar and we found an excellent bar/restaurant overlooking the beach.

The food looked great which we will try next time we stay in this area. Because yes we will defenately be back!!

Had a great time..

San Pedro del Pinatar is located between the Mar Menor and the Mediterranean Sea . It is located in the Mar Menor region although other organizations include it in the Campo de Cartagena region. It borders the province of Alicante and is 37 km from Cartagena and 48 km from Murcia . Its neighboring municipalities are: San Javier (in the Region of Murcia) and Pilar de la Horadada (in the Valencian Community, Province of Alicante). It is one of the districts of the maritime province of Cartagena .

It is a small peninsula that has fourteen kilometers of coastline spread between the two seas. The beaches in the Mar Menor are: Villananitos , La Puntica and La Mota . In the Mediterranean there are the Beaches of La Llana, which are Playa de las Salinas , Barraca Quemada and Punta de Algas . Next to the first is the port. On the other side of the port are Playa de la Torre Derribada and El Mojón . There are two ramblas, the Rambla de las Siete higueras that comes from the border with Pilar de la Horadada and ends at the salt flats, and the Rambla de Casas Blancas that comes from the municipality of San Javier and crosses the municipality until it ends at one end of the beach of Villains.

SAN JAVIAR INTERNATIONAL AIR FESTIVAL

What an absolutely amazing day we had at San Javiar International Air Festival. It was fantastic from beginning to end. I really have to say that even though the traffic was very busy driving down to the airshow it was very organised by the police. Free parking, free to get in and get this, the food and drinks were normal prices. No hikes because it was a show. What more could you ask for really? Oh and it was absolutely boiling to the fact that the pop up food and drink places were giving you straw hats to wear... FOR FREE!! 😂

You can check out all the information and really good videos right here via their facebook page.... https://www.facebook.com/FestivalAereoSanJavier

Of course we needed feeding after a day on the beach watching the amazing show so we stopped at Pimentoes on our way home. Based just on the way into the village of San Miguel Calle Murcia 2 Residencial Los Pinos Cv941, Km9, San Miguel de Salinas, Spain

They are a friendly, family owned restaurant & wine shop with an amazing panoramic terrace. If you have never been you really do have to go and discover their passion for freshly prepared, locally sourced seasonal food, homemade decadent desserts & award winning wines from small, quality bodegas throughout Spain. Relax & enjoy their breathtaking panoramic views & during the warmer evenings on their terrace is essential for alfresco dining. They have entertainment and wine tasting events throughout the year. Check out their facebook page for more information https://www.facebook.com/sanmigueldesalinas2005

HAPPY 5TH ANNIVERSARY TO US!!

WOW where has the last 5 years gone really?

Yep 5 years ago we did this....

And what an amazing day it was too.

Of course it had to happen in our gorgeous village San Miguel de Salinas...

San Miguel de Salinas is a municipality in the Valencian Community, Spain. Located in the south of the province of Alicante, in the Vega Baja del Segura region, near the Region of Murcia. Located between Torrevieja and Pilar de la Horadada, it is the highest town in the region. The 54 km² municipal area descends from the mountain in a route of boulevards, ravines and hills to the plain, known as El Llano where the salt flats field is located, which is the cultivation area. Regional roads connect it with Orihuela, through Bigastro, Torrevieja and the towns of Vega del Segura.

From Alicante, this town is accessed through the A-7 and AP-7 to connect with the CV-940 and CV-941.

We like to throw a good party for any reason whatsoever but being married for 5 years is a bloody good one.. 😂 So off we went to our very fave restaurant once again, Meson El Prado, with some great friends for a great afternoon of food, drinks, live music and dancing!

Music was provided by the amazing Simon Jackson. If you want something different for your party then get in touch with Simon trust me he won't let you down. We have him at every party now. Make sure you mention We Love Spain Live when you do please. Here's his facebook page https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100006631997565

And then it was my birthday and being the spoilt brat that I am, off I was whisked to one of the VERY best Spa Hotel's i've been to in this country that is. Asia Gardens Hotel & Thai Spa situated near Benidorm. In fact you can look down on Benidorm from the grounds. OMG it was perfectly amazing. From check in to check out they couldn't do enough for us. I was with my hubby and special friends Jamie & Christopher. We was there for 2 full days and one night. It so brought back all my memories of our honeymoon in Bali. Could have stayed a month to be honest but you need to be a millionaire to do that! #expensive #howtheotherhalflive

Many famous faces have chosen Asia Gardens Hotel &Thai Spa to enjoy a unique escape. This exclusive hotel with all the serenity, peace and quiet of South-East Asia is a member of Leading Hotels of the World, guaranteeing complete relaxation and perfect service. Its lush tropical gardens with more than 3,000 species brought from Asia, its 7 spectacular swimming pools, 5 of which are heated, the choice of 9 exclusives restaurants, a Thai Spa where one can lose all sense of time and regain vital energy, are just a few of the reasons…

Check out there website https://www.asiagardens.es/en

The food was excellent from a light bite for lunch by the pool, with cocktails of course to dining at In Black, Gastro Restaurant, an amazing exlusive atmosphere, in the evening. Breakfast was something else where they catered for absolutely everyone's tastes and allergies.

My birthday shenanigans didn't stop there... Did they hell... Paella at Rincon de Paco's with more special friends. Andy, Sorelle, from Villas Fox Estate Agents,https://villasfox.com Spanish bestie Lynn and Hubby.. Not been there for paella for far too long and it was fantstic food and a great afternoon.

You have to order your paella in advance and you can also order it to take away..

As you can see I'm still in training for that 10k run I have signed up for 😨 #crazygirl...

This was session 14 with Andy Heath from www.repzfitnessonline.com I've still got a long way to go and really need to crack on with it. Do more in the week when i'm not with Andy. Trying telling that to myself!! 🤪

So being the good girl that I am, {sometimes}, I signed up for a 10k walk on a Saturday night. Yes you read that right - a Saturday Night!!! Proof is in the pictures. Hey it was amazing to walk through the orange and lemon groves during the early evening, setting off at 7.30pm and arriving at los montesinos at 9pm - not bad timing eh? This is the walk I did and it cost a measly 10euros... That got you the walk, water, snacks, a tshirt, bag and water on the way and at the end the biggest tortella you have ever seen with beers and soft drinks to wash it down with. TOP different Saturday night... It really was a buzz... The amount of Spanish older people that did this walk was brilliant. #supportingourvillages

This was practice for the 10k run that I have signed up for which is now on the Sunday 24th November 2024 at 10am. Please come down and support me as its all for a great cause. A really different djing session for me which I totally loved from beginning to end,

was alongside the SAVAGE Dance & Music Show over in La Mata at El Prozo. You can see what they do on their instagram page https://www.instagram.com/savage.dancemusicshow and the restaurant serves great food and drinks at great prices.

I definately recommend you try Cockles With Bloody Mary And A Touch Of Cucumber... Delish!!

Have a look around their website. https://www.braseriaelpozo.com/

A great night was had by all. So if you are a venue and are looking for something different to entertain your customers with then I really do recommend you contact Savage Dance & Music Show. #livedancing #liveentertainment #SpanishRestaurant
