DIVE into September!!

The highlight of my September has got to be going Scuba Diving again after many many years I didn't do it. Back tracking over the years, I first qualifed with Padi when I was working and living in Eilat, Israel. The Red Sea Sports Club. Wow that brings back memories bigtime.

Eilat is ranked among the most beautiful diving locations in the world with the most attractive diving sites. The relatively comfortable weather year-round and the cool waters have created an ideal zone for divers from all over the world, drawn to the magnetic beauty of the enchanted underwater world existing side-by-side with Eilat's golden sands. Many divers vacationing in Eilat opt to cross the border with Egypt for a day trip of diving at the Blue Hole (aka the Blue Lagoon) and Ras Muhammad, then coming back to spend the night in the city. As I worked on a dive boat crossing the border with Egypt most days, to say I wasn't spoilt rotten to learn to scuba dive in the Red Sea is an understatment.

But since being in Spain I have been itching to get back into diving and check out what the beautiful Mediterranean Sea has to offer. I definately was not disappointed.

Off we went myself and dive buddy Billy with Geoff from DIVE DIVE DIVE..

Despite the threat of hail, storms, thunder and lightening conditions were excellent for us to (finally ) join Geoff for our refresher. Having not been in the water for a little while we started off with a few basic skills and drills in the shallows, I hate the part i have to flood my mask!! But by george I did it!!

With all skills completed flawlessly it was off for a couple of 50 minute dives around the bays of Cala Cortina.

What can I say, it all came flooding back to me (pun intended) and you would not have thought that we had taken a break from diving at all!

The marine life was happy to show off for us with sightings of free swimming octopus and, my favourite, cuttlefish. Plenty to see.

It was an amazing day!! #scuba #diving #Mediterranean #Spain #sealife

Cala Cortina is a popular beach located in the city of Cartagena, which is in the Murcia region of Spain. It is known for its beautiful Mediterranean coastline, clear waters, and picturesque surroundings. The beach is relatively small but is a favorite among both locals and tourists for its calm waters and scenic views. Visitors to Cala Cortina can enjoy swimming, sunbathing, and water sports.

Additionally, there are bars and restaurants nearby where you can savor traditional Spanish cuisine and seafood dishes while taking in the stunning seaside atmosphere.

So if you are thinking about trying scuba diving - do it!!

Contact Geoff via his website.. You will not be disappointed what a top guy he is, making you feel safe and getting the most out of every dive.

The only downside to this diving trip, the colour of my fins. Thanks Geoff!!

If you know you know... I HATE PINK!!

Had another FABtastic visit by my mumzeee flying over on her own to spoilt this brat again!

Very special mumzeee & daughter time. You can't beat it.

We made loads more gorgeous memories didn't we mumzeee?

Had loads of laughs and crammed loads in over a short time..

Spa pamper day.. Spoiling shopping day.. Movie nights..

We had a lovely lunch date with the lovely Mr & Mrs Ashley. Now I met this guy 3 years ago when I first started working at BIG Radio Spain. We got on like a house on fire even though he grunted something that sounded like, "hello lovely girl nice to meet you" but I think it was more like "who the hell are you and what you doing in this studio"!!

To hear people say that he is a miserable, unsociable old sod is really not true, I absolutely love him and his gorgeous wife Mrs Ashley to bits. And look he really does laugh!!

Met them in Bar Alegria, Calle Mandarino, Orihuela, Spain, 03319

Great lunch and great day was had by us all.

Talking of restaurants I finally went to Stan & Ollies, which I thought I had already been to but I was getting mixed up with another one.

The Sunday Lunch menu was worth every penny..

A great place to eat and celebrate for all ages!

PLUS their New COCKTAIL Bar is open NOW.

Didn't get chance to sample a cocktail but I will next time.

Mussels to die for.

I normally always have chicken but opted for the lamb which melted in your mouth. Didn't have the room for the dessert which was cherry crumble so I took it home for later.

FIESTA TIME again in San Miguel where the whole village, as always, came together to celebrate. The parade really does get better and better each year.

San Miguel de Salinas is a town located in the province of Alicante, Spain. It has several annual fiestas and events, but one of the most important is the "Fiesta de San Miguel," which typically takes place in late September or early October. This fiesta celebrates the town's patron saint, Saint Michael (San Miguel), and includes a variety of traditional Spanish festivities, such as parades, religious processions, live music, dance performances, and fireworks. It's a great time to experience the local culture and traditions of San Miguel de Salinas.

Keep in mind that specific dates and details may change from year to so it's a good idea to check with local sources for the most up-to-date information if you plan to attend.

You can do that by following the San Miguel Forum on facebook.

I even dared the fair this year...

And let me tell you this... there are no rules whatsoever over here on the bumper cars!! Not like in the UK where you have to go round a certain way.

Over here its just like a wacky races free for all...

Not recommended for bad back or bad neck people thats for sure!!

You could party on until 7am if you so wished. Must admit though when I drove to work at 6.15am everyone at all ages were still dancing away and there was no trouble whatsoever..

I even managed this month to go for a few power walks along the beach after work. Great way to start the day.

A brisk walk along the front and then the use of a free gym outside. Yep look what you can use every day, situated in most villages and along the coast, free of charge!! What's your excuse??

Well my gorgeous blog readers a little bit late sorry...

I blame it on the weather!

Thanks again for reading my blogs every month I really appreciate it.

Here's to October..
