If you go down in the woods tonight be prepared for a big surprise and my god did I get one helluva surprise when I went to visit La Finca Castellano.. What an amazing Animal Welfare sanctuary I came across.. They are situated on the outskirts of San Miguel, Costa Blanca, 40 miles south of Alicante, Spain check out their website.. https://www.fincalacastellana.org
When I arrived I was warmly greated and licked to death by all the finca dogs, as the lovely Becci informed me, then she and the gang took me for a look around the site.
What a wonderful home for all the poor animals that have been, for one reason or another left homeless. Not just dogs as well. This is a home for donkeys, horses, cats, chickens, peacocks, goats and even pigs!! I was totally gobsmacked to see how many animals are there. All wonderfully looked after and really happy to be there.
They have plenty of space to roam around and even the kennel dogs - who are maybe not as friendly as the finca dogs - have a playground to play in.
As happy as pigs in muck!!
I then sat down with the lovely owner Jeannette and of course the fan club for a chat.
Since May 2000 Janette and husband Antonio, and their family, have been taking in, rescuing and re-homing animals of all descriptions that have been abandoned, ill treated, abused or dumped.

All in all this i one amazing place but as you heard on Jeannette's interview they are struggling getting funding this year because of COVID of course.
